Manage Your Favorite Sites through a Reader

For over a couple of months now I am using a reader. Although there are more readers out there available on the web, specifically I used the google reader. Since it is web based contrary to the stand alone reader where you need to download certain softwares or tools for it to run.

A reader allows you to manage your favorite websites around the web where instead of visiting each site one by one, all you have to do is just log on to your reader and all your favorite sites' update will feed automatically, in chronological order.

This is certainly one of the great solutions discoveries and would recommend you to use it. It is not hard contrary to the notion that if you are not a techie you would not be able to use it comfortably. In fact, all you have to do is to get the url feed and add that in your reader subscriptions.

Energy Saving Search and Spam Free Email

Blackle is the latest search engine on the web today. The engine is powered by Google and is of black background. What is interesting is that according to a study, the site saves 750 megawatt hours of a year of electricity due to its black colour feature. Why not give it a try?

Moreover, another great site to avoid spam emails is Anonomi. It allows a person to send you email via a web form rather than the traditional email address where if exposed would be subject for spam attacks. As you know, spam mails are normally system generated where they search for emails through the web add it to their program and attack! The technology gives you a the anonymosity feature and provides you with a custom url for the form normally http://www.anonomi.com/yourname. In my case its www.anonomi.com/galvingo.

Alone this Christmas? Have Digital Dinner

So cool! Where some families are scattered around the world this Christmas, this article provides new technology that allow people who live alone to not have to eat alone anymore. The technology was developed by world's no. 1 consulting company Accenture, formerly Andersen Consulting.

The concept is simple. An elderly woman in, say, California, makes herself dinner. When she gets ready to sit down and eat, the system detects it and alerts her son in Chicago. The son then goes to his kitchen, where a small camera and microphone capture what he is doing. Speakers and a screen -- as big as a television or as small as a picture frame -- allow him to hear and see his mother, who has a similar setup.

"We are trying to really bring back the kind of family interactions we used to take for granted," said Dadong Wan, a senior researcher in Accenture Ltd.'s Chicago labs.

It's cool, it's simple try it this Christmas if your alone.
